Chris Griffith and House Hunters in Maine... What!!??
Although my focus is selling real estate, I buy real estate for people too. One of my "buyer clients" (a wonderful young couple), hood-winked me into auditioning for House Hunters last winter. They were all excited and how could I say no. And we were accepted! So I thought, compliments of my new real estate friends, you'd want to have a good laugh at my expense! We filmed through the worst winter (2014-15) in years up here in Maine. It was not easy work! You know how on every show House Hunters enters the home through the front door, and wow! Well here in Maine in the middle of the winter most of us don't use the front door, we go through the garage. So we began each day of shooting by shoveling out the front doors!
Today I received a call from Pietown Productions announcing the date and time our episode will air. And it's next week! We are Episode 1 of Huouse Hunter's 10th season! I have not seen the finished product. I get to see it the same time as you do. I have no idea how it will look. I only know we had a lot of fun doing this and met some wonderful people!! Here are the details.
Maine Dentist Wants Land for Trapshooting - Wife Says No
Will Premier on:
Wednesday, September 30, 2015 on HGTV 10PMe, 9/c
To get you ready for the big event, below I posted some out takes and my audition video. I'll tell you a little more about trying to act like an actor. It was hard! Get ready to have that good laugh!
My Audition Video
January 14th, in the middle of a snow storm, I get a call from Pietown Productions in LA asking me to make an audition video. Today. I go out to the garage, hang Grandma's bedspread and begin. I would say one part and stop, think about what next to say, press record, talk then stop again. I didn't have all day to make a video and this was going to take all day! So I turned the camera back on, walked in front of it and told my story. Here it is.
Out Takes from Filming
During filming, Jess and I would film each other's "interviews". Individual interviews happened at the conclusion of each day's filming. By this time we were so exhausted and didn't want to be movie stars anymore. We always started the day at 8AM. The crew was awesome! The producers in LA were awesome! You'll notice sometimes I'm wearing my coat, other times not. We figured out too late, what you were wearing being filmed outside had to stay on the whole day inside! Yikes! Here are some of my out takes.
The Finished Journey
Here are Dan and Jess, myself and Jackson Brown from Harborview Lending after closing. Just so you know, Jess and Dan did buy a home on a street with a pretty sounding name! This was a wonderful experience and I look forward to many, many more.
